Prostate Cancer

Deficiency of essential metals (Zn, Co) as cofactors of enzymes is thought to impair the host's resistance to carcinogenic stress. This study investigated the trace metal imbalance in malign vs. benign prostate cancer. Also the concentration of iron, nickel etc. was studied. Iron, Nickel were higher in malign than in benign prostate tissue.
